Business Analyst

job summary:

Summary of position: We are looking for a Business Analyst to take part in a major process re-engineering initiative. This BA will be working closely with a UX/UI team and needs to understand UX/UI. This person must be EXCELLENT at writing user stories and working with team members.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be asked to review As Is and To Be process diagrams and related documents, after which candidate will be asked to write user stories for those business processes.

  • Candidate will work with a team of other BAs, and may participate in peer reviews of each other's user stories, so that the stories are "buttoned up" before presenting to the Product Owner. Product Owner is heavily involved and available for questions.

  • Candidate is expected to be really, really good at writing user stories.

  • Candidate will work with UI / UX team members to align user stories with UI designs

  • Candidate must be also an unusually good writer, as candidate will also participate in composing Learning / Training Artifacts and modules for the Learning Management System

qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience writing user stories. It is important that the candidate "knows the drill" and can crank out user stories quickly but thoroughly, as well as follow up on any Blocks thoroughly

  • Experience conducting requirements discovery interviews primarily with non-technical SMEs

  • Candidate will also have to conduct a few requirements discovery interviews with technical SMEs

  • Good experience and familiarity with Agile projects

  • Relaxed under pressure (a good sense of humor helps)

  • Works well in a team setting

Preferred skills, in order of importance:

  • Experience with a prototyping tool. Though not required, this skill would zoom candidate to the top of the list.

  • Some experience with process redesign projects; the more experience, the bigger the "plus" in candidate's favor

  • Experience working with UI / UX team to create visuals for the user stories the BA creates
