Systems Analyst

job summary:

One of our Austin clients is looking to add a Systems Analyst to their team.

The primary role will be to provide support for an ongoing Windows 10 upgrade project. Responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, documenting, testing and reporting on multiple applications and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly learn current systems capabilities and functionality by using vendor documentation, analyzing code and working with peers

  • Quickly establish rapport with different project stakeholders, contributors and end-users

  • Reverse engineer existing IT processes and applications

  • Create and document test cases to validate system functionality

  • Execute test plans and document results and issues

  • Coordinate testing activities with multiple groups

  • Troubleshoot errors, propose solutions

  • Track, maintain and report on project status progress

qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related experience

  • At least 3 years of hands-on software testing experience on teams delivering software products to include creating and documenting test cases, coordinating testing activities, executing test plans, and compiling results

  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and strategies to influence better software design, promote strong engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, accessibility, testability, privacy, and other quality concepts

  • Experience with collaboration and testing tools (i.e., Confluence, Jira, Adaptivist, FitNesse, Selenium, Lighthouse etc.)

  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain several concurrent activities while managing user expectations

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment without daily oversight

  • Process analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VBA, MS Excel macros

  • Experience with MS SQL and TSQL

  • Experience with enterprise level system upgrades (i.e., Windows 10)

  • High-level understanding of financial markets
