Corporate Accounting Director

job summary:

An Eastside corporation is looking for a Director of Corporate Accounting to fill in for about 6 months. This position will involve oversight over Debt, Equity, Spectrum, Marketing, Payroll/Comp, and general accounting activities for month-end, quarter-end and annual close process.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage, monitor and review the month end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained

  • Analyze and review the month end consolidation and the monthly management reports for accuracy

  • Monitor and review for accuracy the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements for all entities

  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls

  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Coordinate with auditors for the year-end financial statement review

  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual tax return with third party preparer

  • Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance

  • Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a must

  • Must have experience managing a team

  • Big Four or National Firm accounting experience is preferred

  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reporting

  • Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction from manager

  • Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

  • Proficient in Excel and Word

  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

  • Detail oriented and organized
