Software Development Engineer

job summary:

Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, and implement custom applications.

  • Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products.

  • Define and propose system architecture and software solutions for new system applications and enhancements.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and Subject Matter Experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

  • Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines, and provide project statuses.

  • Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, daily sprint meetings).

  • Provide on-going production support forsystems and applications.

  • Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, security, and audit.

  • Experience in Java-Script frameworks (Angular.js 1.5, Angular 6.X, JQuery.js, React.js).

  • Experience with SQL, SQL server, and Oracle.

  • Experience designing Restful Web API architectures.

  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming and Design principles.

  • In-depth knowledge of software design, software delivery, and testing methodologies (including test automation).

  • Continuously learn new technologies, and be a technical coach/mentor for the team.

  • Demonstrated strong technical leadership skills.

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment and with all levels of the organization.
