Staff Accountant

job summary:

Our client is currently experiencing rapid growth is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their accounting and finance team.

location: Boca Raton, Florida

responsibilities:

Financial

  • Record and maintain monthly accrual entries in the general ledger and reconcile to support documentation files.

  • Reconcile monthly bank account statements

  • Reconcile credit card accounts each month.

  • Work in cooperation with project accountants for proper cost allocation entries and contract value accuracy in preparation of monthly WIP report generation.

  • Work in cooperation with Controller to perform month end accounting close in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

  • Assist in the year end audit process.

Operational

  • Audit Temporary Labor Invoices to job labor sheets, submit and track credits with the labor companies.

  • Review weekly expense reports to assure timely submission by employees and proper entry into the accounting system.

  • Track Project close out and payment status in preparation for the quarterly incentive schedules.

  • Review weekly filed employee trackers to prepare and post proper allocation of salaries and per diems to project cost.

  • Extract and analyze data to prepare reports in support of operational personnel as required.

qualifications:

  • Minimum of BA in Accounting or Finance.

  • Three to five years of experience in General Ledger accounting.

  • Advanced excel skills including macros and advance formulas.

  • Experience using ERP operating systems.

  • Experience in preparing percentage of completion based WIP schedules.

  • Self-motivated, good organizational and communication skills.
