EH&S Manager

Permanent position: A EH&S Manager is needed for a leading food manufacturing organization near Effingham, IL. The EH&S Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EH&S systems for the facility. Qualified candidates must have a BS Degree, and 3+ years' of comprehensive EH&S management experience preferably for a food manufacturing environment. Candidate must have a background with Process Safety Management and wastewater. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities for the EH&S Manager

  • Provides overall leadership, guidance and mentoring to the facility

  • Develop, implement and manage EH&S systems and programs; Ensure site is in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies

  • Analyze site consumption of natural resources,utilities, and waste generation; Evaluate impact of site operations on the environment

  • Provide training, mentoring and direct assistance to site management personnel; Analyze incidents for root causes and contributing factors

  • Act as the technical expert and provide recommendations to engineering & maintenance on safety, PSM, hazard and risk identification, machine guarding, lockout/ tagout, fall protection, and flammable & combustible liquids

Requirements for the EH&S Manager

  • 5+ years' of comprehensive EH&S management experience preferably for a food manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor's Degree; EHS Management, Environmental or Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering preferred

  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) Program, and knowledge of refrigerants

  • Must possess strong leadership, training, problem solving, and decision making skills

  • Experience with environmental compliance
