Assistant Controller

Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Controller, you will be expected to:

Assist the Plant Controller in day-to-day transactions performing duties of processing and control.

Ensure all financial reports are prepared accurately and within the prescribed time limit. Supervise, train and evaluate Clerical staff.

Responsible for assigning, instructing and directing the administrative staff towards satisfactory completion of work.

Ensure that employees are trained in the tasks as required.

Assist in the development, preparation and monitoring of the financial costs and administrative goals of the company. Participate in the preparation of the locations annual budget.

Prepare interim and year-end financial statement packages.

Review all standard reports - cash, sales, A/R aging reports, etc. and prepare as required.

Prepare external reports for the government and auditors.

Prepare all monthly financial statements on a timely basis and ensure they accurately reflect the company?s position.

Administer company policies and procedures.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid accounting experience including general ledger, A/R, A/P, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, budgeting, costing, inventory management, and preparing audit working papers.

Proven PC and Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years accounting experience with 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
