Staff Accountant

Randstad Professionals is currently seeking a strong Staff Accountant for a great company located in Richmond, VA.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP accounting. This will include the monthly financial close process, recording of journal entries, explanations of results as compared to the forecast, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Playing an integral role in the month-end close process through preparing, analyzing and reviewing assigned general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statements.

  • Responsibile for recording activity for Loyalty Ventures business unit

  • Reconciling affiliate network commission payments

  • Align with IN product team to obtain vendor payment data

  • Reconcile and resolve issues through analysis and communication with vendors

  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and related Balance Sheet Forecasts.

  • Preparation of quarterly deliverables associated with the external reporting process and audit.

  • Maintain documentation and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

  • Track special corporate projects within the general ledger.

  • Other special projects as needed.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable degree, CPA preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounting

  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred.
