Permanent position: Our client is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in the West Suburbs of Chicago, IL. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for applying advanced electrical engineering knowledge to support NPD, sustaining and productivity designs. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be heavily involved in platform technology development for new product development projects. This is a direct hire opportunity and you must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer
Research technology and prototype new technology that support the lines of business product portfolio.
Define and generate documentation for hardware architecture in new product development platforms.
Serve as a mentor for other design engineers, interns and apprentices.
Create SFMEA, DFMEA and 8D using quality tools.
Lead failure analysis and problem solving tactics by using six sigma design practices.
Design electrical circuits and PCBs by using Altium Designer.
Analyze and simulate analog and digital electrical circuits by using Multisim.
Analyze and simulate RF circuits and structures by using Genesys and Momentum.
Test and troubleshoot electrical circuits by using common test equipment such as power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
Requirements for the Electrical Engineer
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
Ability to travel 25% of time; international travel required.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a related field.
Master's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
Experience with wireless communication standards like WiFi or Bluetooth would be a plus.
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification would be a plus.
Ability to efficiently communicate to all levels of organization or outside partners is a must.
