Mailroom Supervisor

Southside Manufacturing and Logistics is currently recruiting for a Lettershop Supervisor.

The pay for this position is $16.00 per hour. The hours for this position are 7:00am - 5:00pm.

This position is located on the Southside of Jacksonville.


6.0 Essential Duties:

? Supervises assigned Lettershop personnel.

? Determine Personnel needs on a daily and long-term basis.

? Makes recommendations of significant value Hire, Promote, Train, Terminate and/or any other change of status of all assigned personnel.

? Makes recommendations of significant value to Discipline employees when necessary and take corrective measures to prevent further problems of assigned personnel.

? Conduct both Introductory & Annual Performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments of assigned personnel.

? Assure that all assigned personnel are following company policies and departmental procedures.

? Makes recommendations for scheduling staffing.

? Track attendance of assigned personnel.

? Ensures that breaks and lunches are taken at the specified times and that all employee?s return to their workstations on time.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM



--Review daily production logs.

--Sign off on QC sheets.

Lettershop Supervisor Continues

--Receive and inspect Job Jackets from production have all of the necessary component prior to initiating production.

--Maintain accurate production reporting through STATS and/or PACE.

--Review that day's production schedule from/with manager.

--Once the shift begins, verifies all employees are present and able.

-- Notifies Manager if any one person is not at work, and whether they called in.

-- Assigns employee's their production on the equipment or process by hand. (There is no one person designated to any machine or any job).

--Upon assigning jobs, a written worksheet and a sample with complete instructions is given for each job.

--The very first piece produced must receive a sign off by the supervisor.

--As the job is processed a random check is also done to ensure nothing changed.

--The following is a list of what is looked for to ensure the quality on all work:

-When folding into a window envelope the address and barcode (if any) should not tap out to the right, left, up, or down. In any size envelope the fold should always be smaller than the envelope, to ensure the flap will close tight.

-Verify the material is in the order as the sample and is the correct material.

-Check meter rates, date, presort or bulk rate slug, endorsements and overall legibility.

-When inserting into an envelope ensures that they are sealed thoroughly.

-If a count is received by the customer, the count must match

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities- Ability to make quick decisions, have orally and written communication skills, and have people skills. A team player, leader and quality conscious at all times. Knowledge of USPS rules and regulations. Ability to work in a fast pace production environment.


Body Positions- Sitting, Standing and occasional driving a vehicle

Body Movements- Walking, reaching, lifting, grasping, kneeling, crouching, stooping, pushing, pulling and bending

Lettershop Supervisor Continues

Body Senses- Ability to hear detail information through oral communication. Visual required includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Mathematics- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with basic problem solving abilities.

Language- Ability to comprehend, speak, read and write English language, due to all job instructions; mechanical schematics/diagrams and safety protocols are in English. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers; subordinates; and upper management.

Mechanical- Ability to operate various equipment such as but not limited to: meter machines, folder, strapping, inkjet, inserter, computer and calculator
