responsibilities:

The Senior Desktop Engineer leads the development, integration, testing, distribution and maintenance of client application and operating system software for the enterprise environment. This position uses practical experience and working knowledge of industry standard tools, methods and techniques to create standard configurations for operating systems and applications throughout the physical and virtual desktop environments. This position will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the corporate standard system operating system image that promotes optimum usage of enterprise software while maximizing security and productivity. The engineer will build and maintain knowledge base content based on the ITIL framework. The engineer will act as escalation support for the Information Technology Technicians and Service Desk with advanced technical issues, hardware and software evaluations and operational tasks. This position is also accountable for contributing to a desktop strategy and roadmap for the organization.

qualifications:

  • Five+ years IT client support and management experience working in an enterprise environment

  • Documented experience in developing, testing and maintaining Windows OS Images and Application Packages

  • Direct experience Installing, administering, configuring and maintaining Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM 2007 and higher)

  • Expert knowledge of Windows Operating System

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

  • Advanced troubleshooting and issue ability

  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills

  • Windows Client file, share and Operating system permission management

  • Familiarity with client security concepts

  • MSI and EXE control using command line switches and transformation files

  • Advanced knowledge of scripting utilizing resources like command Line, PowerShell and Vbscript

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study and/or equivalent work experience is required.

  • Incumbent will be expected to continue their education and training through self-study. The completion of various courses and certifications as well as the achievement of work performance and productivity goals is required to maintain the position as well as become eligible for further advancement.

Certifications Required:

MSCA - Windows 7 or Windows 8

MCTS - SCCM 2012

Certifications Preferred:

MCSE - Windows Enterprise Devices and Apps

ITIL Foundation or higher
