Healthcare Collections Associate

job summary:

Medical Biller

Job Summary

Make collection calls on medical claims submitted to payers to ensure prompt/timely payment and escalate issues as necessary via phone calls and payer website

Responsibilities

  • Research denials and short paid claims and take necessary action to overturn denial

  • Identify payments made on claims where payment not posted

  • Identifies processing errors and creates 1st level appeals and assist with payer projects.

  • Identifies bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments.

  • Adheres to Regulatory / Payor Guidelines and policies & procedures.

  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required; Technical Degree in Medical Billing preferred.

  • Medical collections experience, preferably in Infusion, Pharmacy or DME.

  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size).

  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size).
