Plant Manager

A client of ours in the Madison Heights area is seeking a Plant Manager. The qualified candidate will be a excellent communicator and leader, able to visualize and articulate the flow of jobs throughout manufacturing processes, scheduling and coordinating multiple departments and outside processes to meet production requirements on time. The Plant Manager will build a positive work environment with excellent interpersonal skills and a management style that promotes team unity and encourages continuous productivity improvements, while adhering to quality standards and Company policies.


Plant Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Company quality standards and accuracy at all times

  • Update daily scheduling sheets as jobs move through processes

  • Organize work flow, assign duties and tasks to department leaders

  • Daily interactions with sales and engineering departments regarding job processing status, customer deliveries and hot jobs

  • Daily adjustments to work flow scheduling and labor schedules to accommodate production requirements and maintain on-time deliveries

  • Meet with department leaders as necessary to minimize work flow problems

  • Coordinate with purchasing department scheduling outside service providers and procuring materials, shop supplies, machine parts, etc. as necessary

  • Oversee maintenance of production equipment

  • Coordinate outside vendors and repair services as necessary to maintain equipment

  • Oversee facilities maintenance and repairs

Personnel and Communication Responsibilities:

  • Maintain open lines of communication with all employees and management

  • Build a positive work environment; maintain a positive attitude and demeanor at all times, encouraging leaders and shop employees to do the same

  • Apply Company rule book consistently and fairly to all employees

  • Hold annual performance and wage reviews of all shop employees

  • Interview and hire new employees as necessary to maintain production requirements

  • Develop and implement strategies to resolve shop problems as they arise

  • Update management on shop functionality and efficiency

  • Assist in management in development of strategies and policies to achieve Company goals

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Associates Degree in Business Management

  • Experience in machining and grinding environments, good math skills

  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Outlook
