Safety Manager

EPC Client is looking to hire 10+ Construction Site Health & Safety Specialists within the next 1-3 months to support projects throughout the USA. These positions offer per diem, mob, demob and trips home every 3 weeks. These are long term projects in the following areas: High Voltage Transmission Lines, High Voltage Substations, Airport Terminals, Airport Fueling Stations, Refineries, Oil & Gas Plants, Power Generation or Commercial Buildings.

Responsibilities for the Safety Manager

  • Provide full-time support in the field, on construction projects, to assure operations are planned and conducted in a safe manner

  • Interface with the subcontractors, the customer & internal support groups to ensure that the project safety requirements & specifications are met

  • Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to personnel involved in projects regarding safety and health issues and work practices

  • Interface with Client Safety & Health Department on site safety & health issues and coordinate preventative measures

  • Facilitates adherence to safety policies & procedures while maintaining compliance with the local, state, & federal OSHA rules & regulations

  • Coordinate & mentor project safety & health walk-through assessments and then review any assessment findings with appropriate parties & follow up by documenting the items which require immediate correction

  • Review and complete, as necessary, Near Miss, Incident and Accident Investigation reports and recommend countermeasures as appropriate

Requirements for the Safety Manager

  • 10+ years of experience as a Site Safety Specialist working in the field on any of the following construction projects: High Voltage Transmission Lines, High Voltage Substations, Airport Terminals, Airport Fueling Stations, Refineries, Oil & Gas Plants, Power Generation or Commercial Buildings

  • You should have a CIH, CAIH, CSP, ASP, CUSP, OHST or CHST certification or equivalent experience

  • A BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Construction Management is a PLUS

  • Must have strong knowledge of OSHA Construction, OSHA General Industry, ANSI, NIOSH and NEC Standards

  • You must have experience interfacing with different regulatory agencies and must be able to interpret regulatory documents

  • You need current training in CPR and First Aid

  • You need to have completed the OSHA construction 30 hour training

  • Candidates with who are interested in the federal and airport fueling projects need to have the Army Corp of Engineering EM 385-1-1 safety training completed
