OHSE Manager

Plans and directs environmental, safety and health activities at site level. Evaluates and controls hazards to prevent incidents and injuries. This role must have full commitment to excellence in OHSE and Quality. The goal is to protect and promote the occupational safety, health and environment of all employees and the community in which we operate. This position is also committed to quality through each co-worker, our system, and in our processes and products.

Provides technical environment, safety and health support and information to the site. Ensures compliance with governmental agencies to include OHSA, EPA, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Develops and monitors emergency action plans. Coordinates all Emergency Preparedness Response (EPR) plans to ensure safe and effective evacuation and medical attention. Prepares written policies and procedures, recommends changes to prevent accidents and illness. Enforces use of safety equipment, and counsels co-workers to ensure compliance with regulations. Investigates accidents and prepares accident reports. Monitors injury rates and Worker's Compensation claims. Facilitates safety training or obtains outside consultants to perform training i.e. lock-out/tag-out, waste (RCRA), HazCom and other procedures and annual required training.

Facilitates forklift training to operators to qualify for licensing. Tests noise levels and measures air quality. Maintains and calibrates instruments. Coordinate hearing tests to co-workers as required. Manage all safety PPE, including, but not limited to: issue prescription eyewear and safety shoe vouchers, order and control PPE and janitorial supplies. Maintain all OHSE communication boards and documents. Assists management to prepare the annual safety and health budget. Lead local OHSE Team, including, act as project manager on OHSE specific projects such as equipment risk analysis. Any and all other tasks and projects as requested by management.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

--Bachelor's preferred, Associate's degree.

--Minimum 3 years experience based in environmental sciences.

--Certificate in related regulatory agency, i.e. OSHA, EPA or environmental science.

--Experience with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:1996, and OSHAS 19002:1999 is highly desirable.

--Must have proficient skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Power Point)

--Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
