Junior Lab Support Analyst

Lab Support Analyst needed for contract opportunity with Randstad Technologies client in Redmond, WA.

Job Description

Our client is looking for a hardcore Junior or mid-level Lab Engineer to provide deployment and decommission support for the Development/Test Server Lab Environment. Areas of expertise include many aspects of supporting a secure, highly-available environment including server, storage, network, SANs, and virtualization.

This individual will assist in the infrastructure buildout of expanding server lab spaces, asset and inventory management, and constant refresh of hardware in response to business needs and strategic direction. This position coordinates with Lab Engineers, System Engineers, Project Managers, Operations Staff, and Sr. Management to provide and support IT business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project or task status on a regular basis to project manager or coordinator

  • Experience with data center hardware, asset management, parts inventory control, as well as overall deployment and

  • Ability to build, configure, and / or upgrade new or existing server environments to meet functional requirements.

  • Accepts responsibility for projects and tasks, but quickly escalates when issues arise, to ensure accurate delivery.

  • Tackle infrastructure projects ranging from server, network, PC, and XBOX environments.

  • Participates in ongoing process and documentation refinement in order to maintain operational effectiveness of both the Lab and Team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to work with little supervision and always displays a self-starter work ethic.

  • Adheres to Company standards, methodology, confidentiality, and security requirements.

  • Data Center or Enterprise Server experience creating rack diagrams, understanding power and cooling loads, planning and executing multiple deployments.

  • Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism, while also values teamwork, clear communication, and willingness to work with others.

  • Experience operating large, high-availability, secure, redundant server environments

  • Able to balance varying sized "rack/stack/cable" deployment tasks while incorporating a high volume micro-tasks on a daily basis.

  • Knowledge of Cisco, HP, DELL, EMC, and other datacenter hardware is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and have excellent technical research, troubleshooting, and analytical skills (finding and implementing solutions in an always changing environment plays a big role in this position).
