UX Developer

UX Developer needed for short term contract with Randstad Technologies client in Redmond, WA

The Design Studio is a leader in gaming and entertainment experiences for customers worldwide. The experiences they create are for a diverse audience - from hard-core gamers to casual media-consumers to game developers across TV, PC, Web, Mobile, and beyond. They partner closely with Engineering, Business, Marketing, and other Design teams to envision, design, and deliver experiences that are simple, beautiful, and solve real problems.

They are seeking a UX Developer to help craft and launch a new chapter in the story of game development services and, ultimately, help shape the future of game development. Together with the team of visual design, motion design, interaction design, game design, and UX engineering, you will help them strategize about their products, articulate meaningful customer experiences, and craft artifacts that delight, engage, and inform game studios around the world.

You are a starter and a finisher - someone who can inspire with concepts and can shepherd a design to ship. Above all, you have craft, through both pixels and code, you can bring an experience to life that communicates and demonstrates the product.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Front-end UX implementation of a product plan and collaborating within other products and code bases

  • Fit and finish development within different code bases and systems

  • Producing concept models, wireframes, visual comps, screen-flows, and other artifacts required for compelling and successful user experience

  • Shipping designs for development on time, at high quality, and reflecting appropriate feedback from partners

  • Working with fellow designers, program managers, and developers to proactively spot and solve problems

  • Inform code architecture at any level of the tech stack where decisions affect UX

  • Help define best practices for building maintainable code bases

  • Collaborating to ensure that interaction, visual, and motion designs are implemented according to design intent

  • Researching, advocating, and building consensus for technical decisions

Qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of developing for software and/or web development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

  • Demonstrable success in developing across ecosystems and platforms

  • Passionate about making hand-crafted quality UI at scale and tackling the tough problems requiring trade-offs

  • Problem solver and fast learner unsatisfied with the status quo and constantly striving towards better solutions, adapting quickly while learning new tech stacks

  • Fluent in translating developer-speak to designers and designer-speak to developers

  • Experience with and understanding of a variety of design, project management, and development processes and methodologies including agile development

  • Demonstrable ability to work confidently with Program Management, Design, Engineering, Product Planning, Brand, Marketing, and User Research

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills

  • Expertise with design production processes and tools (Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

  • Experience with prototyping tools (InVision, Framer, Processing, Unity, etc.)

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Communication Design, Interface Design, Human-Computer-Interaction, or equivalent experience
