Research Scientist

job summary:

  • Company Immuno Oncology Genomics lab is seeking an experienced, highly motivated cellular/molecular biologist to join the Translational Oncology team at Company in Redwood City, California and drive translational research and biomarker efforts for our Immune-Oncology pipeline.

responsibilities:

  • Perform next generation sequencing and other molecular genomic assays for interrogation of Immune-Oncology biology.

  • Support internal discovery projects and generate reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner.

  • Generate reports and present to the team.

  • Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments and suggest, design and pursue relevant experiments that farther project goals.

  • Read relevant literature and adapt scientific efforts to advance research in the area.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

qualifications:

  • A bachelor or master degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics or related life science field;

  • 2 - 4 years hands-on experience in next generation sequencing library prep and related assays;

  • Extensive knowledge of molecular biology equipment and related protocols including DNA preparation, PCR and magnetic bead-based solutions;

  • Good general laboratory and organizational skills;

  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment;

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills;

  • Must be proactive and able to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
