Plumbing Designer

Permanent position: A global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services is seeking a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer to join its team. This engineer will work on a variety of projects and provide a very high level of technical leadership in plumbing design. They will represent the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. Candidates who hold their Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification are highly preferred.

Responsibilities for the Plumbing Designer

  • Prepare calculations, reports, and specifications

  • Preform fire suppression system selection and preliminary designs, and create performance specifications

  • Produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards

  • Participate in QA/QC process of completed work by staff

  • Consult on areas such as the preparation of existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports

Requirements for the Plumbing Designer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 7 years of experience in Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare and/or LAB Buildings (Large Infrastructure Design).

  • Solid knowledge of systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via sketches and renderings

  • Licensed Professional Engineer, highly preferred / LEED Accreditation, a plus

  • Experience with the latest version of AutoCAD-MEP, and REVIT

  • Ability to independently perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and estimate construction costs and evaluate the feasibility of construction
