Accounting Professional

Local Salem Manufacturer is seeking an Accounting Clerk, looking to grow and develop their career within a wonderful establishment. Starting pay is $13-$16 per hour, depending on prior experience. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. A successful accounting professional should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.

Responsibilities:

Experience in Accounts Receivables - receiving money in, applying to invoices, resolving any open account balances

Experience in Accounts Payables - matching invoices to packing slips, resolving discrepancies, keying invoices, working with vendors, paying vendors, resolving any problems or questions

Experience in Payroll Checks and Direct deposit, garnishments, paying state and federal taxes

Understands general accounting principles (debits/credits, balances, etc.)

Understands that in this environment confidentiality is a priority and cannot be compromised

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

Typing accurately, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records

Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements

Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

Trucking industry experience a PLUS

Excellent phone skills - professional - we don't have heavy phone traffic but needs to be able to speak professionally, transfer, page, etc.

Qualifications:

Degree in Accounting acceptable in lieu of extensive experience

MUST have a minimum of 2 years demonstrated and documented experience in the following: QuickBooks, Excel, Reconciliations, Bank Statements, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Debits and Credit

Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures

Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software

Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports

Accuracy and attention to detail

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with the potential for light overtime.
