Mechanical Engineer

Permanent position: Innovative Engineering Design Build Firm is looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Engineer for their Seattle, Washington location. Candidates must have HVAC or sheet metal estimating experience. Company will provide relocation assistance.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Responsible for team management-train and mentor staff, assist in planning and leading training sessions

  • Responsible for Project management-coordinates designs and negotiates deadlines through a collaborative effort with CAD/BIM professionals, Engineers, Project Managers, sales leads, cost estimators, Project Manager's and detailing

  • Familiar with building information modeling concepts and practices when using BIM as a design platform

  • Provides a variety of system designs that might include air, hydronic, lighting, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, architectural, electrical power, lighting and data telecom systems

  • Performs design calculations as applicable to design field: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural or architectural

Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer

  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering

  • Must have at least 3+ years of experience in engineering design -5 years preferred

  • Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office-including Visio

  • Must have knowledge of AutoCaD and Revit

  • Must have energy modeling experience

  • LEED AP and P.E registration is preferred
