Technician

Contract position: An Engineering Technician for an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products is needed in the South San Francisco, CA area. This position will execute and manage test methods related to optical characteristics of components and assemblies. No per diem available. No travel is anticipated.

Responsibilities for the Technician

  • Detailed inspection and verification of process quality standards including documentation and metrology including use of microscopy and metrology equipment.

  • Maintain clean room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to clean room environment practices and procedures. Prepare lot history records where necessary.

Requirements for the Technician

  • Experience with executing and managing test methods in a laboratory setting. Testing dimensional features using equipment such as video microscope (e.g. OGP, NEXIV, Zeiss).

  • Experience with hand-held measurement tools (e.g. micrometer, caliper. Must understand concepts of statistical process control (SPC), including gauge R&R studies.
