Hardware Engineer

Contract position: A Hardware Engineer for an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products is needed in the Sunnyvale, CA area. This position will handle thermal and mechanical design of new products for company platforms group. Provide complete thermal solutions to customers in diverse industries, advising and guiding clients through architectural planning, design, simulation and test phases. No per diem available. No travel is anticipated.

Responsibilities for the Hardware Engineer

  • Work with other members of the hardware team and provide support related to thermal design. Plan and coordinate experimental testing to validate thermal CFD design with high level of accuracy.

  • Design electronic product cooling solutions including high-performance heat sink design for networking blades, mini cell towers cooled by natural convection, and mobile devices cooling.

  • Design and coordinate experimental testing for several lines of products in thermal chambers at a wide range of environments and configurations, to validate thermal design and optimize fan speed control.

Requirements for the Hardware Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on heat transfer and thermal management. At least 3 years of experience in thermal management.

  • Working knowledge of CFD for thermal management. Hands on experience with commercial CFD tools. Experience in providing thermal design for a wide variety of electronic products.
