Controls Engineer

Permanent position: A Controls Engineer is needed for a leading global manufacturer of specialty glass and plastic products for the pharma and healthcare industries. Client is located near Vineland, NJ. The Controls Engineer will provide engineering support to the manufacturing process performing core design, creation and development of software for control equipment, PLCs and inspection systems. This is an excellent growth opportunity for Engineers interested in working in a technically innovative environment. Relocation Assistance provided. 0-25% travel is required. Bonus eligible and paid overtime.

Responsibilities for the Controls Engineer

  • Support design and advise engineering team with hardware selection to ensure that selected hardware will be able to integrate with software platform

  • Create software control systems in order to integrate hardware and software components so as to manipulate the output data as required and provide user interface support that will be used by factory operator and engineering team.

  • Assists manufacturing process for optimization of controls and vision system equipment with performance, spending and scheduling goals as a priority

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, with time management and manufacturing cost as a priority

Requirements for the Controls Engineer

  • BS in Engineering: Electrical Engineering preferred but not required

  • 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment: experience within a glass or related manufacturing industry is a plus

  • Proficient with C# and Visual Basic programming languages with Multiple thread code

  • Proficient in computer hardware interfacing and computer user interactions

  • Working knowledge of C++, PLCs and HMI software development (Allen bradley/Siemens)

  • Experience with Project support, implementation and continuous improvement initiatives is a plus

  • Exposure to Ethernet networking and Modbus serial communication is a plus
