Technical Writer

Our healthcare insurance client in Washington, DC is looking for a technical writer. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's in English or Journalism and be an expert in creating quality presentation materials for executives and have the technical expertise to update technical documentation and SOP.

The technical writer will be responsible for working across technical teams to gather requirements and provide detailed and updated technical documentation and create SOP. They will also be responsible for working with different lines of business to create quality presentation materials for executives.


The ideal technical writer candidate will have 3-5 Years of professional experience and possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in English, Journalism, business, or a technical discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Applied Science, Operations Research)

  • Experience as a Technical Writer producing high quality presentations / decks in support of business transformation, modernization, or vision & strategy programs

  • Experience with technical writing tools, applications, and workflows

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English)

  • Experience developing and managing technical documentation review process steps, ensuring quality control and integration of content received from multiple business architects and analysts

  • Previous experience communicating complex concepts to multiple audiences (business and technical; executives and project teams)

  • Deck writing (i.e. vertical and horizontal logic) experience with consulting firm (preferred)

  • Ability to create compelling presentation graphics using Power Point and/or Visio

  • Ability to perform basic SharePoint library management tasks (posting content, basic document library organization)
