Summary:

The Applications Manager will provide overall leadership and direction to the Applications and Informatics staff within the group and is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all activities relating to the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the clinical and business organizational information systems and software applications.

The Manager of Applications serves as a member of the Information Technology Leadership team and reports to the Senior Director of IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and cross functional project teams to introduce new systems or upgrades to existing systems.

  • Manage daily activities of consultants to implement projects and support systems.

  • Introduce potential technology solutions to department leaders and process owners to support their strategic plans.

  • Plan, scope and prioritize application change and enhancement requests and manage releases.

  • Manage software patches and upgrades to existing applications.

  • Manage daily operations and end-user support for assigned business area applications and the resolution of all user issues affecting production operations.

  • Liaise between the user community and IT to ensure effective End User Support for access requests, service requests, training, and usability issues.

  • Document end-user support processes and provide knowledge references for the service desk.

  • Establish and/or maintain data mapping for data privacy within the assigned business area.

  • Participate in updating and executing annual Disaster Recovery plans and tests.

  • Produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple, concurrent assignments using time management skills.

  • Manage relationships with software vendors and consultants.

  • Follow all IT SOPs and guidelines for the delivery and support of regulated systems.

  • Execute projects following industry standard best practices and ensures that vendor PMs also follow best practices when executing a project for the group.

  • Lead the requirements gathering for new business solutions and execute the RFP process, as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 6 - 8 years' experience in information technology with at least 3 - 4 years in the healthcare industry.

  • Experience with EMR / PM conversions, migrations and launches required

  • Experience supporting end users for production systems.

  • Experience building user requirements and functional specifications.

  • Experience working with cross-functional and remote teams.

  • Strong Project Management Skills are required

  • Experience with and knowledge of ServiceNow, EMA, SharePoint, GE Centricity a plus

  • Strong financial acumen a plus.

  • Understanding of contract management process is required

  • Operational knowledge of MS Word, Project, Power Point and Excel are required.

  • The successful candidate will be able to correspond in a poised and professional manner with all levels of management.

  • A team player able to work in a dynamic environment with attention to high quality results.

  • Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to function independently as well as part of a cohesive team.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
