Answering 50-70 inbound phone calls from health care providers (i.e. physician offices, facilities, clinics) and identifying the type of assistance the provider needs (i.e. benefit and eligibility, billing and payments, authorizations for treatment and explanation of benefits (EOBs)
Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify specific questions or issues while documenting required information in computer systems
Completing verification process prior to releasing protected health information to caller
Research across multiple system applications to identify the current status and provide appropriate response.
Assist caller with instructions and guidelines to submit authorization for treatments; including navigating provider to the company website and instructing how to use our tools
Deliver all information and questions in a positive, conversational and compassionate manner to facilitate developing a relationship with the provider, while using clear, simple language to ensure understanding
Own problem through to resolution on behalf of the customer in real time or through comprehensive and timely follow-up
Meet the performance expectations established for the position; including call quality, productivity, provider satisfaction, first call resolution and attendance
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes keyboard and navigation skills and learning new computer programs
Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Must have experience working in a high volume call center
No Degree Required
2+ years prior Healthcare experience in a call center; with a concentration in a provider support, administration and utilization management protocols
Excellent communication skills; with proficiency translating health care-related jargon and complex processes into simple, step-by-step instructions customers can understand and act upon
Demonstrated ability using computer and Windows PC applications, including ability to navigate a computer while on the phone, keyboard skills and learning new computer programs
