Customer Service Representative Import

Our client in Wilmington is looking for a Customer Service Representative in their export shipments division. The salary is $17.00 per/hr Mon Fri 8:00 am 5:00 pm


*Enter Shipment data into the computer system in order to generate required documents and labels, apply rates and charges, arrange export clearance through U.S. Customs, and track shipments with carriers from origin to destination.

*Ensure shipments received from truckers and couriers, have a document receipt, noting any shortage, overage or damage, and ensure staged in appropriate section of the warehouse.

*Arrange pickups of shipments from customer or vendor to client. Arrange transfer of shipments from client to carrier.

*Print documents for shipments and ensure assembled for staff to label.

*Distribute required documents to customers and ensure our copies are maintained accordingly.

*Provide service and support to customers and overseas offices regarding status, transit as well as communicate any irregularities of shipments.

*Follow up as needed with overseas, customers and carriers for any damage claims. Filing through to preliminary notice of claim.

*Open non-conformance reports

*Other duties as designated by supervisor

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


*Check airline website for on board confirmations and enter information in client system.

*Arrange pickups of shipments from customer or vendor.

*Print shipper documents and ensure assembled for staff.

*Provide service and support to customers and overseas offices regarding status of shipments,

*Communicate any irregularities of shipments.

*Sending pre-alerts

*Filing as needed

Other duties as designated by supervisor:

*Superior organizational, data entry and communications Skills, as well as detailed oriented, accurate and self-motivated.

*Ability to distinguish incomplete or contradictory information/documents.

*Able to communicate effectively with customers via email and phone


High School




*High School Diploma

*2-3 Year of experience in shipping.

*2-3 years of experience entering orders into an ERD system.

*Computer Savvy.

*Comfortable with communicating with clients and vendors by email, telephonically and in person.
